When should I replace my candle?

Always monitor the amount of remaining wax in a candle container.  Once the wax falls below 1.5cm, discontinue use.  The container can heat up when the flame nears the base of the jar,  following this rule will help prevent heat damage to the container and the surface surrounding the candle.

How do I remove spilt wax?

If you accidentally spill candle wax, ensure that you let it harden so it can be easily removed in pieces.  Cover it with paper towels,  or something similar and gently press with an iron on low heat.  The spilt wax should melt and absorb into the paper.

How do I maximise scent throw?

In order to maximise fragrance scent throw in a room, keep doors and windows closed and burn for 30 minutes. Opening windows and doors will help the scent to disperse.

What is soy candle frosting, and does it affect the quality of the candle?

Soy candle frosting is the crystalline, frosted appearance that can develop on the surface of soy wax candles as they cool. This natural occurrence happens due to the unique composition of soy wax and is not a sign of poor quality. While it may alter the aesthetic of the candle, it does not impact its burn time, fragrance, or overall performance. Soy candle frosting is often embraced by those who appreciate the natural and eco-friendly qualities of soy wax.

How do I fix a tunnelling candle?

You can fix a tunnelled candle by wrapping a piece of aluminium foil around the edges and simply letting it burn. Make sure the foil hangs over the built-up wax areas, but leave an opening in the centre so the wick can still burn properly. After a couple of hours, the wax should melt and even out the surface.

Why is my candle sweating?

If you see beads or small oil build up on the top of your candles, your candle might be sweating.  Sweating is notorious in 100% soy wax candles and is a sign that the product is all natural. Soy wax is sensitive to extreme temperature changes, causing the natural oils to separate from the wax and leaving pools of oil on top.  Sweating will not affect the quality of your candle at all. You can simply wipe off the excess oil with a tissue.  To avoid this in the future, make sure to keep your candles away from drafts, direct sunlight and room that vary in temperature.

Can I reuse my glass jar?

Absolutely! Pour hot water into the container, leaving room at the top.  The hot water will melt any remaining wax and it will float to the top. Let the water cool and remove the wax.  Wash container with soapy water, this will also help remove the label.
